Endorse This: Jeb (Still) Loves Cheney

Jeb Bush is now caught between his beloved dad and his brother. Following George H.W. Bush’s recently reported criticism of W.’s cabinet members for their advice leading up to the Iraq War, Jeb is now in the uncomfortable position of offering support to… Dick Cheney?

“I think my dad, like a lot of people that love are George, are tying to create a different narrative, perhaps — just because that’s natural to do, right?”

Of course, one could interpret Papa Bush’s remarks as a gambit to clear the Bush family name — and what makes it really interesting that Jeb can’t even try to grab a lifeline when it’s thrown to him.

“As it relates to Dick Cheney, he served my brother well as vice president — and he served my dad extraordinarily well as secretary of defense.”

Because there’s really one thing Jeb needs to do right now: Remind the public just how well America runs under a Bush administration.
